Mulalley completes the £15m refurbishment of Gosport Towers with the aid of the Royal Marine Commandos
The official ceremony to mark the completion of the refurbishment of the 5 tower blocks was carried out by Gosport Mayor Councillor Derek Kimber who said that the refurbishment works undertaken by Mulalley had transformed this part of Gosport.
Working with the residents over a three year period, Mulalley has completed a refit of some 430 flats with new services and kitchens and bathrooms.
The external insulated render, chosen by the local management committee, reflects the colours of the local area and has rejuvenated these blocks.
Alongside the Royal Marines, three brave souls - Jim Martin and Brian Cato (Martin Associates), and Nigel Poole (Chief Executive - Kelsey HA) took the plunge and abseiled from one of the towers to raise over £1000 for the Mayor’s charities including Relief for Uganda, and the Falklands Veterans Association.
"The skyline of Gosport water front has been improved immeasurably by the renovation of the five tower blocks but that is only the tip of the iceberg"
Mayor of Gosport, Cllr Derek Kimber
