This new £3.9m fire station for Essex County Fire
& Rescue Service is being built on a green field site in
Stadium Way, Thundersley, Essex. The building provides a single
storey four bay appliance garage and training tower, together with
a 2-storey administration and accommodation block.
The accommodation block includes rooms for public
use to further links with the local community and to enable
education initiatives. There will also be space for the Youth Fire
Fighters group to meet.
The new facility incorporates several renewable
and sustainable energy systems including geothermal a heating
system, solar thermal water heating and wind turbine.
The building specification reflects a requirement
for durability along with a desire to achieve a modern and
welcoming architectural appearance.
