Mulalley has successfully achieved carbon neutrality, following an intensive programme of carbon and energy management and reduction within the business. Please view our news release for full details.
Mulalley and Company are committed to reducing/minimising the environmental impact of our works. Our construction activities are carefully planned to avoid unnecessary nuisance, disruption of natural and wildlife habitats, destruction of trees and other landscape features.
In recognition of the fact that the earth's resources are finite, every step will be considered to minimise waste through recycling or other techniques. At present our waste carriers are recycling over 90% of the construction waste from our current contracts.
We only purchase timber from 'managed' or sustainable producers who comply with Forests Forever; FSC or similar purchasing policies. Where possible "environmentally friendly" materials shall be proposed for incorporation into the works.
Company owned and operated vehicles have generally been diesel powered, as this has been considered to be more energy efficient than equivalent petrol driven vehicles, resulting in less fuel consumed by our fleet generally.
All staff are encouraged to take sensible measures to use products such as stationary produced from recycled materials. Waste paper is kept to a minimum, and where possible recycling systems are in use.
Staff are encouraged to switch off lights, heaters, office equipment and machinery when not in use. Rooms are kept at a comfortable level and are not allowed to overheat or conversely air conditioning is not used to refrigerate rooms. As Building Contractors we create and therefore must deal with a number of problems. The main areas of concern are: Noise Pollution, Visual Pollution, Air Pollution, Water Pollution, Waste Materials and Effluent, Contaminated Land and Wasteful Practices.
