Mulalley and Basildon Council celebrated the completion of the 5000th home to receive improvements under the multiple award winning £28 million Decent Homes Programme in the borough.

The celebration took place at the home of Mrs Jean Collie who had just had a new kitchen installed. Mrs Collie said: “I am more than pleased with my kitchen and everyone has commented on how much space and storage I have. All the workmen were so respectful during the works, thank you.”

Mulalley Operations Director Bruce Benson said: “It was a pleasure to visit Jean’s home and to hear how pleased she is with her new kitchen. The completion of the 5000th property is a significant milestone and shows the hard work and commitment of the successful partnership between Mulalley and Basildon Council.”
