Watford CHT celebrates 10 years

Mulalley supported Watford’s 10th Birthday Community Festival earlier this month, by sponsoring the deck chairs in front of the stage at Meriden Park. It has been 10 years since Watford Community Housing was formed, when Watford Borough Council transferred its housing stock over to the newly created Housing Association in 2007.

Over 500 people enjoyed the festival activities, which included face-painting, inflatables and live acts. Mulalley Associate Director Danny O’Reilly joined in the fun by bravely abseiling down the side of Munden View, in aid of the Peace Hospice fundraising.

Amy Willcox-Smith, Customer Experience and Engagement Manager, said of the event: “We had a great time at our community festival and we’d like to thank everyone who came down for such an amazing, positive day – we had almost 500 attendees! The best part of the event was that there was a real sense of community spirit, which was so important to us in celebrating our 10th birthday. I’d also like to thank all of our contractors, stallholders and staff, who did such a great job of sponsoring us and making our community event the best one ever.”

Mulalley Operations Director John Moore said: “We were delighted to sponsor the Festival and help raise funds for the Peace Hospice. It was also a great opportunity to meet some of the residents we will be working with in Watford.”

Mulalley was appointed by Watford Community Housing Trust to help improve and enhance the local area for residents. The Meriden Estate redevelopment is an ambitious £28 million estate regeneration project, which will provide 133 residential homes and new retail space, including extensive public realm improvements. The Brow is a £7.5 million design and build project to provide eight retail spaces and 38 new homes.
