Mulalley was a silver sponsor of both the annual Croydon Council Staff Awards and the Croydon Mayor’s Civic Awards. These awards celebrate the successes and says thank you to the individuals and teams who make Croydon a better place to live and work.
This year Mulalley sponsored the ‘Voluntary Group of the Year’ award at the Civic awards and presented a Special Recognition award at the Council Staff awards to the team who have led on Croydon’s fire safety response. The Voluntary Group of the Year award was presented to Love Norbury, which was created by local residents’ associations to promote and regenerate Norbury. Community spirit goes from strength to strength in this part of Croydon because this group puts local people at the heart of everything they do. They deliver a range of events and initiatives, including the ‘Shop Local’ discount scheme, which encourages residents to shop locally. It’s also raised over £20,000 for local projects.
Councillor Toni Letts, Mayor of Croydon, said: “Croydon is full of unsung heroes, people who selflessly give their time and put others first to the benefit of their neighbours and the wider community. This is evidenced by the incredible number of nominations we received across the categories. I’d like to congratulate all of the finalists and thank everyone who submitted a nomination.”
Mulalley Operations Director Bruce Benson commented: “It was our pleasure to attend and sponsor these awards which celebrates these exemplary individuals and teams in Croydon.”
