Supporting The Whitechapel Mission

Generous Mulalley staff donated much needed items to the Whitechapel Mission in London. Two boxes were filled with toiletries such as toothbrushes and shower gel as well as socks, on-the-go snacks, tins, biscuits and beverages. These were presented to John Hayes (Circuit Minister for the Mission) by Terry Ingram (Site Manager) and Michelle Rayner (Lead RLO) who visited the mission the week before Christmas.

Staff on the Tower Hamlets Homes contract felt the Whitechapel Mission is such a good cause that they hope to donate two full boxes on a monthly basis.

Tony Miller MBE said on behalf of the Whitechapel Mission: “Please accept and pass on our grateful thanks for your donation of food and clothing in support of our work amongst people who have the misfortune to be homeless. We open our doors every day of the year at 6.00am when there is always a queue of people waiting. It is to continue this work that your money will be used.”

Mulalley Operations Director Bruce Benson said: “It’s always good to see the level of generosity our staff showed to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community. I’m glad we can continue to make a difference, especially at a time of year which is often the hardest for those who are homeless.”

The Whitechapel Mission has been serving the homeless and marginalised for 143 years – including a day centre, skills training and career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs. By encouraging each person to address the issues which caused their homelessness, we help them to gain the skills and confidence to make lasting changes in their lives.
