Mulalley was delighted to be a main sponsor of the recent Stevenage Day, celebrating 60 years since this free event was first held.
An estimated 30,000 people enjoyed the free family activities which included fairground rides, petting farms and live music, plus over 200 stalls of which most were community and voluntary organisations.
The family event, which was organised by Stevenage Borough Council with the help of recording studio The Practice Roomz, also hosted the annual community music festival Rock in the Park. The stage was headlined by the fantastic ‘Wrong Jovi’ and featured some of the best musical talent Stevenage has to offer.
In addition to handing out lots of fun freebies during the day, Mulalley ran a free ‘guess the number of sweeties’ competition on their stand. The winner of the sweeties and the luxury hamper prize was local young resident Katelyn Colby Phillips whose guess of 1,454 was only 21 sweets away from the total of 1,475. When she was presented with her prize Katelyn said “Thank you so much. I’ve never won anything before. I’m so happy. I will share the sweets with my brother.” Katelyn’s mum Leanne was surprised the hamper was also part of the prize and said “Thank you so much. This is brilliant.”
Geoff Caine, a main organiser of the Stevenage Day for the last nine years said: “It’s a massive event. The community has really come out to celebrate 60 years of Stevenage and the uniqueness of the town. This year is the biggest and best yet.”
Mulalley Operations Director Bruce Benson said: “We were delighted to support the Stevenage Day, and were thrilled to see so many of families enjoying the day’s activities. It was also a great opportunity to meet with the many residents we are working with in Stevenage.”
Mulalley is currently working in Stevenage on their Major Refurbishment Contract, working in partnership to deliver major refurbishment work to 550 blocks and garages across Stevenage as part of a £45m investment.
