Mulalley on the BIM and Digital Construction stage at the London Build Expo

With over 25,000 registered attendees and 500+ high-level speakers across 8 stages, Mulalley was pleased to attend the London Build Expo, which covers the latest construction, and development opportunities for the Greater London region and across the UK.

Held on November 17-18th at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, this has been the first time in nearly two years that contractors, architects, engineers, developers, house builders, and building and construction professionals of all other types could get together at this scale and have face to face dialogue on the advancements and latest available technology within the construction sector.

Amongst all the action, Dan Hoogeveen, Mulalley’s BIM + Digital Leader was invited to moderate the panel discussion ‘Optimising Collaboration Using BIM’ to a full audience on the BIM and Digital Construction stage. The panel discussion which also included members of widely recognised companies ISG, Multiplex and AHMM, focussed on both the benefits and challenges of working in a BIM environment with particular attention to how BIM processes can lead toward more efficient, accurate and coordinated outcomes in both design and construction. This was a particularly relevant debate to participate in as the New Build Division of Mulalley develops its BIM capability, as focus toward this area across the residential sector continues to increase.

Dan Hoogeveen said: “It was an excellent stage in which to present views based on Mulalley’s most recent project experiences and to assess our current position in relation to Mulalley’s continuing adoption of BIM and promote our approach to collaboration. If the panel discussion was anything to go by, Mulalley are certainly pointed in the right direction when comparing ourselves to our industry peers.”

We didn’t manage to ‘escape’ without Bradley Oakley, Mulalley's M&C Lead BIM Coordinator, being ‘chased’ down by Shaun Wallace from the ITV quiz show The Chase. Bradley did admirably, correctly answering a question in relation to his favourite football team (which will remain unnamed!).
