Mulalley Mascot Safe Sammy visits local nursery

Mulalley Mascot Safe Sammy visited 1st Steps Day Nursery in Barking and Dagenham, where children and nursery staff were given a safety talk.

Mulalley’s Oxlow Lane team spoke to several little tots on how to stay safe around construction sites, in a fun and interactive way. After the talk, Mulalley provided the nursery with colouring books, crayons and building toys to encourage children to have fun constructing.

Katie Burman at 1st Steps Day Nursery said:"We were very pleased with the safety talk provided from the team at Mulalley, the children were so entertained throughout and were very excited to use the foam bricks and try on the safety helmet and fluorescent safety jacket that they brought with them. They children loved meeting Safety Sammy and high-fiving him before he left. Thank you so much for coming in to talk to the children they have loved every minute".

John Moore, Managing Director – New Build Division said: "We believe it is crucial to engage with people of all ages, to help educate and inform about safety around construction sites and equally important to promote the construction industry. We provided building play materials, as this will help children to think independently and make decisions on what they enjoy based on what they are learning from young".

Be First, on behalf of Barking and Dagenham Council, appointed Mulalley to their rebuilding programme to replace the existing flats at 263-285 Rainham Road North and 291-301 Oxlow Lane, with 63 new high-quality affordable homes.
