Senior Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer
The Role
- To produce and manage correct, efficient and coordinated Mechanical Design packages to facilitate accurate installation costs and minimise associated construction risks to both the project and the company
- To design, manage and be responsible for the Mechanical Building Services for design and build contracts, in accordance with all current industry recognised design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations etc.
- Work efficiently with the in-house Architectural Design Department and external design teams accordingly.
- Produce concise design information, consisting of drawings and efficient specification packages based on Employer’s Requirements.
- Manage design output and deliverables to agreed programmes.
- Attend design team meetings and project sites as necessary.
- Instigate compliant industry standard design solutions with particular attention to Fire-related Regulation legislation.
Experience/Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Building Services Engineering or other appropriate engineering subject.
- To hold or be working towards an appropriate grade of membership in a recognised professional engineering institution e.g. CIBSE, IET etc.
- 8+ years in relevant Mechanical design
- AutoCAD
- Revit MEP Design
- MEPworx design software or equal
- NBS Specification software
